After the races this week, Lisa says "We got to get a car to race". So I snapped this up before she could change her mind. Its just a roller, but has a 6 point cage thats cert'd, built rear, hurst quarter stick and a few other goodies. Got it for 800 so I just get to get a 351 and a C4 and it will be ready.:evillol:

Nice car Chuck!:)
Did you pick one up for me? |

I can find you one. good thing about cars from here, no rust. I have already started making a list of parts. I found a guy selling a DSS 331 kit for 500 brand new, he is just wanting it out of the garage so I may go that route for now till I get the big stroker built. |
Aaarrrrrgh!
The wife would shoot me if I started a race car project!!!!!!! Glad your wife allows it! Keep us posted! Peace!:) |
I was racing my truck and I think she didn't want me to break it. I am gonna get her behind the wheel of the car to let her see what kind of fun it is.

It has Lakewood shocks and struts, Eibach drag springs with the air bag on right rear, Maximum Motorsports adjustable upper control arm, and solid lower control arms.

Update
Block is going to the machine shop next week. 331 shortblock with main girdle, looking at some AFR heads, I picked up a Holley Systemmax lower intake and a box upper. Now the question put a hair dryer on it or spray it. I will come up with what I will do in the next few months. My goal is low 10s.

You gonna run a stock block? Dont throw too much power at it if you are, a 302 based stock block, they're typically only good for 500 HP with a max RPM of 6K.. They will split right down the middle, take the pan and intake off and you'll have 2 inline 4 cyl's :smiley_roll1:
I've had my eye on Ford Racing's Boss 302 block ( it's Windsor based, not Cleveland )... Priced much better than a Dart block, and there are guys throwing a ton of power at them. The 302 in my 79 is a stock block, I have no clue how it's lasted this long ( 4 yrs ). I dont rev it past 5500.. Lucky I guess.. You asked hairdrier or the juice.. Go with a hairdrier, nitrous will break ya ( 7 bucks a # here )... Stay away from Ebay kits too, they use cheap steel ( or stainless ), cracks like no other.. If your looking for a GOOD, fairly cheap kit, check out B&G custom turbo. Brian is a good guy, will talk your ear off, but a good guy. He stands behind his work.. He's on theturboforums.com ( user name B&Gcustomturbo IIRC, been a while since I've been on there ).. Or, build your own kit.. I had Brian build me a kit, for the price, I couldnt build my own, nor do I have the time to mess with it.. Good luck with the car  |
The Boss block is a Windsor block but uses the Cleveland mains. I am using a "stock" block that has been preped the right way. My stall is 4800 and will be shifting at 7200. I will be spraying, one of my sponsors is covering the cost of the kit and 5 bottles and the cost of fills. This car is actually for Lisa, I have finally secured a couple sponsors for my car, 351 World Product block
434 ci stroker, heads TBD, Jesel Shafts, Solid Roller, MSD, Super Vic and twins. Going to be working with Larry Meaux on the turbo headers and exhaust. |

My wife would have a chit fit if I put one of those manifolds on her dining room table...:yikes2:

Its a piece of plywood on saw horses in the garage.:hehe:

Front is done with 2000 Mustang spindles and PBR dual piston calipers, I had to do some modifications to make the skinnies fit with no spacers. I really hate the idea of some guys running spacers and lifting a wheel then coming down and breaking studs. Safety is a big deal when it comes to going fast.

Thanks Bill. I still got to assemble the motor install it, put the tranny in, finish the fuel system and wire everything up. Not sure if I am gonna make my goal of making a big race Dec. 4.
