My engine build thanks to Bill,Cody and Brad
I thought I posted these pictures but guess I didn't here are the pictures from the build.... Bill and Cody did a AWESOME job on it! :woot:
ok, so this all started as a simple take the heads off have them cleaned up and put studs in along with new turbo, injectors, HPOP, and fuel system... what it turned into was a complete engine rebuild after Bill found a good bit of damage to my rockers, valves and pistons... just figured i would share some of the highlights of the build with yall http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...r/trailer1.jpg on the trailer headed to GA for Bill to work his magic!! http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...er/dually1.jpg engine is out and ready to find out whats going on http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...ashedturbo.jpg the turbo has seen better days!!!! it seems squirrels made a next in my intake while i had the truck parked for a while!!!! http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...ker/build1.jpg Cody tearing the engine apart http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...ker/build2.jpg almost coompletely tore down http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...ker/build8.jpg think the valves need replacing?? http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...stondamage.jpg piston damage!! http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...ker/build5.jpg kinda hard to see but showing the cylinder wear http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...977501_n-1.jpg cleaned up and ready to start going back together http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...145264_n-1.jpg looking like an engine again http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...er/build10.jpg getting there!! http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...er/build11.jpg shot of the Adrenaline pump and CPR fuel system http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...ker/buil12.jpg better shot... http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...er/build15.jpg everything back together and back in the truck http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...er/build16.jpg close up of fuel bowl delete and new fuel filter http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...er/build14.jpg CPR fuel pressure regulator mounted http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...er/build17.jpg on the dyno breaking in the engine http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...er/build18.jpg and its done!!! First of i have to give HUGE props to Bill,Brad and Cody From Power Hungry Performance, they have done an awesome job and are absolute pleasure to work with!! 2nd i got to thank Bob Riley at dieselsite for everything from answering all my dumb questions and always being on top of getting bill parts as soon as i would order them LOL, and Clay at RiffRaff for the awesome deal on the turbo.... and also thanks to everyone who i have bugged and bothered while i was gathering parts to get this underway!!!! The truck made 396hp and 867ft lbs which I was pretty happy with :cheesy smile: I can't wait to get a built trans so I can spend even more money for my eventual goal of around 550hp |
Sure looks good, I don't mind admitting I'm jealous...lol
|
I'm kind of wondering how Bill got that picture of me.....
That's not my good side. :cheesy smile: Thanks for the good words, Jason. Enjoy the truck! |

Oh and those pictures of how dirty the engine bay was, was just to much so today I tried cleaning it up some all that dust and dirt just looks horrible in pictures lol. I mean not that the truck is a show queen by any means but the nicest part of the truck is the engine so I gotta keep it clean lol

Really, I would leave it as it is. If you want 550 HP though, go for it. |
Cody is that part of being in the witness protection program???? Never have your pic taken and never, never be on Tv.... Now with that being said I love my picture being taken....When you look as good as I do,,,why not be seen everywhere ??:smiley_roll1::smiley_roll1:

im jealous
very nice build u hvae to give credit where credit is due im glad to see we still have straight foward and good mechanics left in the field!:woot:
|
Very Nice video and gorgeous truck! :cheesy smile:
Our trucks look alike in paint scheme, but mechanically we are opposites. I now have the trans to support the higher hp/tq numbers, but my other mods are fairly tame. I have never tried to do a burnout like that because I'm always afraid I'll break something, maybe I should quit being such a wuss. I'm assuming you were live-tuned? What level of tune were you in for that video? ETA: 38R? |
Very nice!! I'm jealous!

Haha I break stuff regardless if i beat on the truck or drive it like a grandpa, but that was actually bill doing the burnout in it... I hadn't picked the truck up yet when he took that I told him since he built it he should break it in right lol.... And yes once everything was back together bill tuned it on the dyno as for what level he prob had it on the 140 setting but I'm not sure. |
Actually, stock-for-stock, with the power numbers on the dyno, you are about 150-160.
I took the video with Bill's camera. |
