Towing Question.

Is it ok to tow my trailer a short distance in the 87 performance tune setting? I was also wondering what the difference is between the custom tow tune, and the 87 performance tune would be.

What's a short distance?
Loaded or unloaded?
Difference between the 2?
Shift points and Bills secret recepie!
Jack posted a weight on how much before switching, sorry I can't find it.

Yes it was empty and about 10KHs, worked just fine.

Well, I thought I was up on metric weight units, but I'm danged if I know what "KHs" means. However, between Lars and Corey, you got your answer and looks like you had an uneventful trip! :thumbs up yellow:

Possibly, your trailer, when loaded, might be something like mine. About 3600# or 1.6 MT, in which case a custom tow tune would work better for you than the "canned" one, which was designed for towing weights in the 5000#+ category. You wouldn't need quite the low end torque that the canned tune gives and you'd probably get better fuel economy with a custom tow tune.

Yes I also have a custom tow tune. My trailer empty is 4100lbs.
