Quick ? about going to the dealership w/tunes

I'm going to have to take my truck to the stealership to fix my windows. Is it best just to load the factory tune every time you take it to the dealership, or would you be o.k. just leaving the custom tune loaded and just removing the dash pod and cable?

Also, is there any problems with frequent installing/reinstalling of tunes?

O.K., thanks

i would take it back to the stock just incase they flashed the computer or did some kind of reprograming. also if its like the stealerships around that dont want to have anything to do with you or your truck if you have any kind of mods. according to them any done to the truck, the warranty is voided but they have to prove it

In general, always return back to stock. Nothing sucks worse than finding out the hard way that your dealership reflashed the PCM while your programmer was still in a level.

It doesn't matter that you're going in for window repair or a flat tire or whatever. If the dealer can make 1.0 hours doing a reflash (even under a TSB or warranty) they are going to do it so they can get paid on it. Not worth the risk in my book.

Plus like banks said, many dealerships will try to crucify you if they find out you've modded your truck. Doesn't matter that the programmer has nothing to do with the issue at hand, they're looking for any excuse to make you pay. Don't give them one.

O.K. That's very clear. Thanks

So for everybody, rule of thumb, always return to stock when taking vehicle in for anything PERIOD. :cool_beans:

What happens if they reflash it with the programmer in a level?

I read in one post on f150Online that the truck might not even start! :omg: Honestly, though, I don't understand why that should happen. But, I DO know your Gryphon becomes useless until it's reset by Bill, since it "thinks" your truck is at a "level" and it can't recognize your truck's new stock tune.
