Got a quick question... my truck is a 2002 with a VDH2 PCM. I've been playing around with some tunes on my truck, and wanted to try some on my parent's truck. They have a 2003 with a VDH5 PCM. I thought that VDH2 and VDH5 were interchangeable. I've run VDH5 on my truck, and it works fine. However, any VDH2 based tune that I run on my parent's truck just stalls the engine immediately.
Any thoughts, or is this normal? |
PATS?
I run VDH2 stuff on two VDH5 trucks but the PATS has to be disabled. |
On second thought, I will assume that you have cleaned the PCM contacts good enough.
This is just me thinking out loud but it goes for ANYBODY doing tuning. If you put two or more different tunes on a chip that are not the same hex (i.e. VDH5 in position 1 and VDH2 in position 2, etc. ) then you will have a stall condition when you change programs. DO NOT MIX HEX CODES ON A CHIP! |
I'll try both of those suggestions, Cody. Thanks! As always you come armed with answers!

Curtis,
Let me know if you're still having an issue. It may be a problem with the files or some other oddity. In any event, I'd like to get it resolved. Hope you have a great New Year. |
Well, Cody was right. I did slip in one VDH5 tune in there.
Truck is running great right now, and towing a 5th wheel at the moment. :D |
Awesome! Let me know if you run into any other issues. :)
Take care. |

Ask me how I know about that problem. Man I fought that for a long time about 18 months ago. |
