What does it mean if the motor is significantly louder in any tune other than stock?

The title pretty much says it all, but to expound anytime I turn my switch from position 1 ( stock ) to position 2 ( 25hp tow ) there is a significant change in the moan of the motor. And this sound is consistent throughout all of the tunes other than stock. Does this mean something isn't working as well as it should be?

Thanks

Nope, this means that the tunes are working. The operating parameters and maps that are changed in the tuning are going to make the engine more efficient but at the same time, just a little bit louder. It's the nature of the beast, Bob.

Thanks Cody, that's good to hear.

Dont worry, even the gassers like mine have a change in tone. :thumbs up yellow:

The increase in engine noise comes from a few different sources.

First, there's a modest increase in timing to help improve fuel economy and performance. This isn't too aggressive, but it will definitely make a noticeable change in engine sound.

Second, there's the change in ICP. This makes for a slightly hotter combustion and also slightly advances timing as well. This accounts for the increase in engine sound as well.

Take care.
