PCM Code
Spoke with Cody yesterday about ordering the Pheonix Chip. I am currently trying to locate my PCM Calibration code. The truck currently has an Edge programmer on it, I plugged it in and didnt have any luck seeing the code.
On the wiring harness that plugs in to the computer, there was a sticker for recal. It has the numbers F7TF-TB There is also a cal code on the side of the drivers door that says 6-90A-R02. This number/letter combo seems to be correct from what I have read, but it was on the door. Everyone says it should be on the computer. Does anyone know if either of these are the codes I need to order the chip? 1996 F250 7.3L |
Hey there,
Most of the time people find a 3 letter-1 number code (ex SOD4) on the fenderwell side of the computer, can be hard to see without a mirror and light, even then you might be reading backwords, so its not always easy to get. However, the one number you gave "F7TF-TB" matches up with a PCM code on a calibration list. The PCM code would be TDE1 with that number you gave, which would make sense if you have a '96 auto with a dealer PCM recalibration. Your actual PCM code on your computer might not be TDE1, but it would probably be in the same hardware family for being compatable with a Pheonix chip. I would say you could probably order your chip with the F7TF-TB number, but if you could find the PCM code in addition that you could also have handy when you order you would be golden! Hope this isn't too confusing! |
Nope, not confusing. Cody also responded in my other thread and gave me the same calibration code that you did. Thank you for your help! :thumbs up yellow:
