IDM

Hi all
2001 7.3 auto trans, Idles fine but if you give thottle it falls on its face abousletely no power, cant even pull its own weight. cel comes on. let off thottle shift to neutral wait 10 seconds, cel goes off. idle comes back up has power in till around 1500rpm then starts all over again. code 1316 always comes back. Sound right? and if so where is it located? Thanks:sigh:

Run a buzz test using a capable scan tool.

The P1316 does not mean that your IDM is bad, you just need to look into it a bit further. A buzz test will reveal a code that will help you pinpoint the location of the failure.

Typical causes of this code:

Under Valve Cover Harness (UVCH)
UVCH connector
Valve Cover Gasket
Injector (not likely)
