You did get the activation code for PhoenixFlash, right? I will assume you did since the software recognizes that there is a chip in the burner.

1. Attach USB cable from computer to burner.
2. Install chip in burner with switch connected properly (black wire from switch is on "cut-out" side of chip). It's tough to get this wrong, but I've seen it.
3. Switch is in #1 position....are you sure that the detent washer (the one with the tang on it that determines how many "clicks" you get) has been installed properly? If it's placed in the #6 hole while the switch is turned past the #6 position, you will get errors....and no burning action.
4. Plug in the power to the burner (important last step).

Open PhoenixFlash and look in the lower right hand corner. You should see a "PID", "CID", and "FID" with "BC", "BC", and "FC" respectively by each.

Where are you at with that?
