Default questions about tunes

I have been running power hungry's canned tow tune for about 3 months now, I love the way it felt, I think the novelty has worn off a bit , now I'm considering getting a custom tune, probably an 87 performance tune, however I'm also considering maybe an 87 towing tune, My only mods are a cat back and a AF1 intake. What I'm wondering is the real big difference between the two tunes. - fuel mileage (city/highway) shift patterns (earlier/later), throttle response between the two and etc. any input is appreciated. Also I do not tow or haul anything, the reason i used the canned tow tune was cause i liked the pickup affect of it, Thank you

I noticed a little more torque at the high end w/ my 87 performance, plus higher shift points. All in all, it's not a "huge" difference if that's what you're looking for IMO. I like mine and plan to keep it.

I kinda agree with Big Sur.
However, I went from canned to custom 87 tow and 87 performance. Felt a good change from canned to custom on the tow, while the performance was better on the upper end. Never ran the canned perf. because of CAI installed.
Now run the performance unless towing. Throttle seems a little quicker in it. Love the WOT kick I get when some idiot wont let you change lanes. Gets the big SCrew movin' quicker than they expect. Hope this helps a little.

You wont see the same difference from canned to custom tunes as you did from stock to canned tunes. There will be, however, a better fit to how you drive the truck. If you can give Bill a good description of your driving conditions then he will do his best at matching the tune's parameters to your needs. He will also be able to readjust your sensors to match the larger intake to keep from running lean.
