You have got a REMANUFACTURED PCM there.
No big deal. What year and transmission does your truck have again?

You may have to do some "intrusive" investigation.
You see the 6 bolts that hold the PCM together? Use a 7/32" or 5.5mm socket and pull the bolts out. You will see printing on one edge of the circuit board that says "DPC-###" (DPC followed by three numbers). This is all that Bill needs to know to get you hooked up with some programs. I see you live in California and that you have an automatic transmission so that may narrow it down a bit but it's not conclusive. Getting the actual DPC code off of the PCM circuit board will be an absolute definitive way of knowing at this point. Besides, you'll have to clean the PCM contacts anyway so you're already ahead of the game by dissecting your PCM now.

Running better? Hmmmm.
Shouldn't have affected it at all. Cleared shift adapts maybe.
