It also depends on your expectations of the the tune. My 87 performance tune didn't make my truck any quicker but it did make it a little more fun to drive. I would drive the truck stock for a week or so to get accostomed to the stock 'feel', then try the custom tune and see what the difference is.

Go back to stock? I understand where you are going but no way! The point is that the canned level 2's performance far and away exceeds the performance of the Custom 87 Perf in my truck and that goes against the grain here.

I was just putting that out there as an option. If you want that tune to really feel 'high performance' use a bicycle for a month, next time you go down the road you'll really feel like your going. lol:super:

ROFLMAO!

Anyway... ROtested, you may want to put the truck back to stock, drive an hour or so to let the PCM settle back into a "normal" state and then try the custom tunes again. I've had a few folks do that and it has worked wonders.

If the truck still isn't responding properly with the custom tuning, I'd be happy to get a look at them to see if there's something we either missed or boo-boo'd. We're human... it happens.

Keep me posted.

I felt the same way when I loaded my custom tunes

I felt like my canned 2 was outperforming my custom 93 performance

then I made my adjustments for tire size, and what not

and now it's back to where if I barely tap the pedal she'll lurch

only thing with the throttle being that touchy is potholes become real annoying

the movement my leg gets from the pothole is reflected by the truck accelerating

Haha, I know the feeling, my parents live on a steep hill. We always see who can get up without spinning the tires. My mom's expedition holds the 'king of the hill' title The programmer dropped me below my dad's 97 f250. lol The custom tunes take some getting used to.

At Bill's request, I returned the truck to stock for a few days (100 + miles) and then reloaded the custom 87 perf tune. Same results, noticeably less performance compared to the canned level 2. I see that Bill tweaked Rustler's custom tune(s) after he expressed similar concerns as mine and that Rustler felt a gain over the previous custom tune. Is that something that might work for me?

I really don't know what Bill did with rustlers tunes. But I am kinda stumped what's going on with yours?

Greg,

It's very likely that we'll be able to get the same type of improvements. I'm still working on the tunes a little bit for Rustler and clearing a couple minor issues. Once I get those done and confirm they work as intended, I'll update yours as well.

Take care.
