They get very minor tweaks ever so often. Probably wouldn't hurt to plug the programmer into the computer and check for updates.

So we can just do a full update through the Update Manager....then go back to Targeted Functions to restore custom tunes....correct?

Pefect, just was I was looking for.

Also, anything if I need to know if I change my PC I use to update? I had installed Pegasus on my laptop and when I created my trouble ticket, I noticed it stores the 'computer name' in the ticket. I will be using my new PC from now on, so i will have to install Pegasus on that. Will I need to update the computer name on my open ticket?

thanks
Matt

For the monochrome gyphons, yes.

For the CS and CTS gryphons, not without being instructed by Bill.

That'll work. Just make sure that you update pegasus when you install it onto the new computer. I think the link on the website is an older version.
And yes, update the computer name and any other relevant information on the open ticket.

Default Fail Safe mode

Well today I had a new problem. I was leaving work and my truck went into the Fail safe mode. I stopped on the side of the road, turned it off and started back up and everything has been fine since.

Not sure if this can be linked with the rough running problems that I have been having.

I ran the Pegasus update. returned message Gryphon updated successfully.
Firmware Version: v3.10.1063 .Calibration Version: v2.04.1012 .

Went to plug it into my truck, and as soon as the gryphon is plugged in it says 'external memory needs to be reflashed - call tech support '.

argh. ticket #136.

Is there no way to reflash with the current software? I guess the pegasus client detects that the flash is 'current' and there is no option to reapply. Should be easy enough if there was that option.

edit: doesn't look like it. I guess if I had custom tunes (I don't) I could reinitiate that download and it would fix itself. But as it is, it looks like PHP will have to throw the canned tunes in the 'custom' bin so it can be reflashed.

same kinda issue as this, except mine didn't have a comm timeout. it all seemed to work fine. I can still see my serial #. http://forum.gopowerhungry.com/close...t-timeout.html

I did not check codes when it happened because I totally forgot that the Gryphon could do that... LOL!! But I just checked now and no codes show up.

BigSur
Engine fail safe popped up on the information screen. I was only pulling out of the parking lot at work so I immediately stopped and turned the truck off. I am not exactly sure what happens in fail safe mode. It just doesn't sound like a good thing. Everything seems fine now. Nothing out of the ordinary happened when the message popped up.

Update to my post #123, I installed pegasus on a different PC, and was able to reflash the unit with the same firmware/calibration this same. hopefully when I plug it into my truck the 'memory' error is no longer there.

but then we are still back to the hesitation/missing issue

Wow...what is that exactly? What happens when a truck goes into fail safe mode?
