7.3 trans tuning
hey guys i have a 2000 f250 7.3 and i have a php cs tunes by bill and my question is, im rebuilding my transmission and making it stronger i have a tcs billet triple disc convertor, jw valve body, factory ford clutch kit, sonnax boost valve, line to lube pressure regulator valve, front lube/ drainback valve, tcc control sleeve, one piece rear case bushing and a spril snap ring. with this rebuild will i need to have my tunes revised/updated for the trans to work the way it should?

The valve body will certainly cause you some harsh shifts with the tuning you have and the torque converter clutch apply will likely be a bit brutal too.

tuning
so have an update will for sure be needed. i just hate to pay to have a update done for trans and then again in a few months for the single shot injectors, thats extra cash out the window.

Cody, I'm curious why he needs reburns when I didn't need them after getting a complete JW trans. Is that because John knew during the build what tunes I was running so he adjusted the line pressures to accomodate? Thanks, just trying to learn.

As I tell EVERYONE.
Run it and try it before you decide to pay for different tuning.

Thats good advice, Cody. WI, you may like the firmer shifts and not want to reburn. Give it a try first.

i guess ill just have to drive it first when its done. id like the shifts solid but dont so firm that your neck snaps when it shifts gears or when the tc locks up. real firm shifts would not be good with the goose neck horse trailer on.

Worst case would be to take the chip out if it shifts too hard & drive it stock until you do your injectors
