new Canuck
hello all, from British Columbia, Canada.
It was time for new tires on my F150 so I was doing some searching on the internet to see what my options were. I ended up at F150online, and one thing led to another and new tires became a leveling kit and 35's. My initial search for a tuner/programmer was just to correct my speedo readings. I followed a link over here to try and see what the heck a "gryphon" was. I had a few questions that I shot over to Bill, and received answers almost immediately and I was sold. So now my tires, lift and tuner are all in the mail, there's going to be some big changes to my bone stock FX4 in a week or so! |

Got my Gryphon today, read the instructions a few times and put it in. Honestly it took longer to get the side cover off my dash than anything else. I took it for a quick ride around the block and pardon my language but holy ****balls that woke it up! I'm running the 83 tow tune and it really boosted the bottom end, and since I live on the side of a mountain, the shifting improvement was very noticeable.
I can't wait for the morning commute! |

right on , mine is getting mailed today, but i have to wait a few days for my custom tunes for it, not quite a plug and play set up yet, i did a conversion swap from a 4.6 to a 5.4 so instead of going and getting the pcm flashed , i am doing it this way remotely and Bill is custom writing the flash for me , and then i can use the can tunes for it , i am stoked to finally feel what this engine can offer me with the propper settings , glad to hear you are loving yours , and yes i do not miss the commutes out there at all. used to live in mission bc and had to drive all the way to Willington in vancouver , hr and a half to 2 hour commute each day, now i have a 2 minute commute lol

So I'm a few weeks into Gryphon ownership and couldn't be happier.
My mileage increased by 1 or 2 mpg and the truck became really enjoyable to drive. I just got my new tires put on (325/60/20) and the mileage dropped a bit but doesn't appear to be any worse than stock. Power is still good with the larger tires, although I can feel the added weight/effective gear ratio change coming off a stoplight. I can't wait to see what my custom tune will do! Happy Holidays everyone |
