A few newbie questions....
I recently purchased a 2000 F250. I have been looking at getting a programer but I am torn between the 6 position Pheonix or the Gryphon.... my biggest concern is that if I go with the Gryphon I won't have the ability to switch on the fly.... is there going to be an update at some point to allow this feature....????? Are there any benifits to going with the pheonix????

The Gryphon is a flash device that will re-write the programing on your PCM(which takes some time), where as the Phoenix chip will override the PCM and run off the programming withing the chip(instant).
I like the chip, never know when you are gonna have to crank it up to pass slow moving cars or challenge a ricer from a stoplight...... afterwords click it back to your Daily/ Economy setting and continue on your way. Ohh....can one of you Mods with some power move this for me. |

Probably should run that by Bill when you make your decision. There is definitely room for improvement when using WVO, but not absolutely necessary......IMHO.

Okay well I have another newbie question.....this time about glow plugs. My 2000 F250 has the wait to start light...is there any harm in ignoring this light I live in florida and well its hot here and I don't notice a difference when starting if I don't wait. Are there other unforseen complications to not waiting.... if not can these be disabled?

FWIW I only wait for the GP's when the engine is cold (below 50*), otherwise just jump in and crank her up!
No real harm that I can think of.....might smoke a bit though. |

That's kinda what I thought...but I didn't want to hurt something....not to worried about a 10 dollar glow plug but if it some how 200 dollar injector then I would be missed at my self.....

I have seen many stock injector-ed trucks with +200K on them, and others with 80K and need a few replaced.
All depends on how you maintain them. |
