Default 1200 RPM idle too high!

Just wondering why all the Hydra tunes have my truck at 1200 RPM @ idle? I have an 01' F-350 manual trans. Quick overview of upgrades include the complete fuel system from the tank to the fuel rails w/ regulated return, the HPOP, intake, 38r turbo w/ .84 compressor, and 4" exhaust. 180/30 injectors. Every hydra tune I have programmed makes my truck idle at 1200 R's, except stock setting. When I stop at lights, or a stop sign, the R's only drop down to 1200. I quickly tap the hydra-remote down to stock position, then back up to higher tunes once I'm rolling down the road again. Each setting shows good horsepower, and the programing I downloaded was taken the POWERHUNGRY site, using the Box/HEX conversion code from my PCM. Any ideas how to fix this problem?

Hi Dave, welcome to the forum. I'm sure Bill can fix this issue. Just standby, he seems to check the forum quite often and I'll bet he'll have a solution for you soon.

What is the box code for your PCM and what HEX code are you running?

Are you running the standard calibrations, or are you using the files from the Titan unlock?

There's absolutely no reason that you should be idling over 700 RPM.

Thanks for the reply. I should've mentioned this info in my original post, but I thought it might be a generic problem. So the PCM code is XPC4, the HEX code is VOAA8Q4, and I'm using the calibrations right from gopowerhungry.com. When I type the PCM code (XPC4) onto the Ford calibration box/hex conversion from the Hydra-Flash download, it says the calibration code is VOAA7P6. I have the VOAA7P6 tunes loaded on the chip.

SO...I may have just found the problem. I just re-typed the PCM code onto the Box/Hex conversion from the HYDRAFLASH download, to double check the calibration code. Again, it says to use VOAA7P6... but, in the notes at the bottom it says "Split-Shot Injectors"!!! I have single-shot injectors. Could this be the problem? I'm sorry I'm not savvy at all, with this programing...I'm a 50-something retired fire captain, just trying my best! All your help is much appreciated!

The calibrations that come standard with the Hydra chip are for STOCK configured vehicles. If you have any modifications, the standard tunes provided on the server will likely not work well (or at all, in some cases), and you'll need to use custom tuning.

From the factory, the DAC3/XPC4 tuned vehicles come with split shot injectors. If you have single shot, then the injectors have been changed and the standard tunes will not work correctly. You will definitely need to run custom tuning.

You have the option of purchasing the Titan library which will provide access to tuning for single shot injectors, or you can contact one of our may customer tuners who would be more than happy to provide you with a full set of custom calibrations.

I hope this is helpful.
