Default Stock boost on a 7.3

So my chip is back getting custom tunes so I'm driving my truck around on the stock setting. It's got a 38r turbo and my boost gauge is reading 22lbs at WOT. I thought normal was only like 15-17. Is this turbo making more boost even though my truck has no tunes on it? Thanks guys

stock turbo/stock tunes is about 19lbs max. What size exhaust housing do you have. It is possible I suppose to have more boost even if you have a 1.0 A/R exhaust housing since the bearings spin more freely.

Yea good point it's the 1.0 housing. The truck has a couple other mods to but I guess I just figured with stock tunes and injectors the turbo shouldn't be putting out that much boost
