onefitty Wed, May 27th, 2009 06:46 PM

Yep, I just disconnected and plugged into the truck and everything is A-OK. The tunes are awesome! Only to get better once the truck re-learns my driving habits. Thanks again everyone, I am driving up to school this evening (right now) about an hour and a half both ways, I will give a report on passing power and things when I get back! WOOOHOO!!

(That was for you Lars)

Mexico Dan Wed, May 27th, 2009 07:18 PM

My serial number and invoice are also the same, 1599. No word yet on my order, exactly 12 weeks ago today.

Jackpine Wed, May 27th, 2009 07:27 PM

You MAY have been someone who didn't get the hex code in quickly? Make sure you register through Pegasus (for insurance). I see you have it in your UserCP.

- Jack

Mexico Dan Wed, May 27th, 2009 07:29 PM

Sent Hex in as soon as I got it (first week of March). I know they have it, Corey confirmed it. Not located on Pegasus update. Currenly working on 1620 it says.

Normally I can get 5-8 orders completed a day. However, with Corey's surgery tomorrow (today!), I am going to be away from the computer quite a bit over the next couple days. I'd expect at this point your tunes will be done either this weekend or the first of the week.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the update, I was just trying to do the math with the new feature you added to pegasus which is pretty kewl. Best wishes to you and your family hope all goes smoothly

WOW!!! I have not really worried about my tunes... BUT I'M 1620!!!! I did not even know what my serial # was, and decided to pull out the invoice to see...

Going to install Pegasus... will let ya'll know how the tunes are!

... and how the new version likes Vista x64...

Power Hungry Fri, May 29th, 2009 02:43 AM

Patrick,

Somehow I got your invoice stuffed further back in the order stack. I've got it back up front and am working on it this evening. I apologize for getting it out of order... :(

Take care.

Bill

Mexico Dan Fri, May 29th, 2009 07:54 PM

Right on Bill. Your reputation precedes you. Looking forward to the new tunes.

Jackpine Fri, May 29th, 2009 08:54 PM

I'd like to point out that the new features Bill has put into Pegasus are already helping to untangle "knotty" problems. Now, everyone - do your part! Update to the newest, best version of Pegasus and "register" your device! I've done it - I'm not expecting any tunes, but I'm happy to get any free upgrades that might come my way for doing so. :)

jumpn Sat, May 30th, 2009 01:27 AM

I ordered Feb 23rd. Should be expecting mine any day now. Mine was number 1590. Sent my hex code in back on March 1st. Corey updated me back in April that it should be close. I understand the health issues they are dealing with. I emailed them just now to check on my order. Hoping I didn't get missed. I've downloaded the latest Pegasus, returned my truck to stock and tried to download just in case I missed an email, but no file. I was really hoping for today:sigh: Thanks for listening.

Rxyb Sun, May 31st, 2009 09:32 PM

Will the "last updated on" change as Bill works on them or only when he himself updates the current number? So when I check and it still says:
"Current working invoice #1620
Last updated 05/26/2009"
Does this mean he has not done any since (due to caring for his poor wife's post-surgical needs) or he is simply keeping us on the edge of our seats until he tells us where he is actually at?

I'm extra currious as I'm #1661 and I ordered custom tow tunes to pull my travel trailer to Alaska when I move to Anchorage in 1 week.:help:

Jackpine Sun, May 31st, 2009 11:27 PM

I'm only guessing, of course, but I'd have to say the number represents which invoice/tune he has actually uploaded. And, I'd also have to say that Corey's operation has brought everything to a halt, for a while.

Do you think this gear is a good choice?? I would like to have a little more UMMMPHH then stock.

1. They should be if that's what you put on the order.

2. Load tunes and take it for a test run along with a gps.

My tire size was set at 2465(7 percent) changed it to 2484(6.3 percent). So you may have to play with squish factor numbers a little bit.

Congrats on getting your tunes!

I would go 4.56. More common and more available than 4.30. Second choice would be 4.10 for the same reason.

Well if it was me and I was choosing between 4.10 and 4.56 I would probably do 4.10 especially if you do a lot of interstate driving, since you only have 33's. The 4.56 would give you more low end but on the top end around 70 (interstate speed) you would have higher rpms which results in more gas usage over 4.10's but thats just my two cents.

well my truck isn't 4x4....i have a 2001 f150 king ranch with 38inch Mud Graps for that!!
the 4.6 STX is my everyday truck since the 01 gets like 8mpg lol i have 4.56 in my 01 truck with the 38'z and it feels strong i know it is prob a lil undergeared but it feels good. I feel it is faster then when my new 2006 truck was stock. I do drive on the highway so i think the 4.56 is a little too much gear if i can find 4.30'z 4.33'z i will have them installed if not i will prob shoot down to the 4.10

Yea, I'm in the same boat. Can't find any reverse cut 4.30's. I am going with 4.56's. Most of the people I listen to say if your changing gears, make it worth your while. Currently running 3.55 open diff on my 4x4, going to 4.56's with Detroit truetrac rear diff. I'm sure it's going to feel like a whole new truck. Recently added 315-75-16's from my stock 265-70-17's. Looking forward to new gears and my gryphon to be ready. Just have to keep my right foot under control while the gears break in. :woot:

Keep me up to date on that setup, I'm thinking about the exact same gears and Tru Track...I have 3.55 gears and do a lot of towing on the highway and can't decide between the 4.10s and the 4.56s...I don't like running with the OD off all the time, but don't want to destroy my gas mileage either...decisions, decisions...

jumpn Tue, June 2nd, 2009 07:03 AM

Will keep you updated. I don't tow, but have some a few hills to contend with. I checked a few gear ratio / rpm calculators online, and found the 4.56's shouldn't make the engine scream like I thought it would. Try 4lo.com for their calculator, enter your info, and see what you think. I was starting to get paranoid about ordering the 4.56, but feel better about it now. Still need to order master install kits, but will post when they are installed. Hopefully in the next week or two. Later, jumpn

I've sent Bill a message on this as well, but figured I'd post here as well. Looking at the Update status in Pegasus, it looks like serial number 1642 is the current unit Bill is working on. My serial number is 1612 and I don't have any custom files available. Hopefully, this is just a mix-up.

jumpn Tue, June 2nd, 2009 11:14 PM

Again, same here. Sent a PM to Bill night before last, haven't heard anything back yet. I'm serial # 1590. I've checked my spam folder and haven't seen anything in there. I guess I'm not alone?

OK, got my custom tunes today!!!!! Loaded my 89 performance tune. Really like the feel so far. Still have 3.55 gears, going to 4.56's soon. Can't wait to feel this thing with the new gears! Thank you!!:woot:

Power Hungry Sat, June 6th, 2009 12:59 AM

4.56 on 35's will be like stock tires with a 4.10 gear. It should have plenty 'o pull. :)

Just keep in mind that RPM's will be a bit high and fuel economy might suffer a tad. Honestly, to keep things more in line with what you currently have you may want to look at a 4.10 gear instead. The calculator indicated that a 3.92 gear is what you would use to match your stock tires and 3.55 gears.

Just some things to think about. Have a good weekend.

jumpn Sat, June 6th, 2009 01:23 AM

I know the 4.56 might be a little more gear than I really need, but I don't have this thing for mileage!:giggle: If somebody out there would make reverse cut 4.30's for our 4 wheel drives, I would have gone with that. I may have succumbed to a little peer pressure on the gear choice, but now I won't feel like a poser with a bigger truck with no power! :)

+1,000,000! Although, a 4.10 final isn't a whole lot more than a 3.73...and you never want to be stuck wondering "what if?"...that's why I'm also leaning towards the 4.56s. The nice thing about 4.10s is that if you decide that 33s may be in your future, you don't need to change gears again...*sigh* This is one of the hardest decisions to make...on the Mustang it was easy. If I went with 4.10s, I run out of 4th gear by 1/4 mile so 3.73s was the easy choice. Not so easy on the Monster Truck.

Power Hungry Sat, June 6th, 2009 09:15 PM

One thing to keep in mind is that the throttle controls are load based and the more gear you use, the less load the engine sees and the less power it will try to make. We had a customer running 4.88's in his truck and the poor thing wouldn't get out of its own way. Now if he was running 38's, everything would have evened out and would have been fine but he was running pretty short tires (33's I think) and it simply killed his performance.

4.30's would actually be a good call, if you could get a set to fit the front. Gears are always a tough decision because they are QUITE expensive to do on a 4x4 and not something you want to change more than once.

Good luck in the decision making process. :)

No doubt it's expensive! I was "friend price" quoted $1600-1700 for parts and labor...

I submitted my order via PM to Corey on January 8, 2009 and sent a couple clarification messages up to 1/10/09. Never got an answer to my 'estimated wait time' question, and haven't heard back since 1/8/09 even in response to my followup in May.

I read somewhere a while ago about a list that we can check to see progress on our order, but I haven't been able to find that list nor where I read about it.

My UserCP shows that Corey was a 'recent visitor' but there's no date to know when that was.

Corey or Bill can you provide any insight/update?

Thanks guys. :)

[Edit: My UserCP is missing model and serial # info, maybe this is the problem. I will report these tonight when I can check the unit.]

[Edit #2: Also worth noting; I have added EFans since submitting my information to Corey. Lincoln Mark VIII with DCControls FK-50P.]

Jackpine Tue, June 9th, 2009 07:43 PM

Your serial number is how Bill "tags" your tunes so that only YOU can upload them to your Gryphon.

To see where things stand, download and install the latest version of Pegasus. It is V2.01.0575. Anything earlier is no good now.

Using the diagnostic menu in your Gryphon, locate and write down the Serial Number, the Model Number, the Device Type and double check that you have the HEX or "Calibration" code correct.

Then, add the serial number and model number to your UserCP here in the forums.

In addition, in Pegasus, click on Help->Registration and fill in all the details, then click on "Save".

Now, in Pegasus, you can click on Updates->Current Update Status to see what invoice# (Serial Number) Bill is working on and you can tell if you are close, have been passed up because of incomplete information or even if your tunes are ready (which could be the case).

If you were passed up, try to connect with Corey to insure they have the information they need.

Thanks for your helpful input Tohi but without knowing what's going on, it's probably best to keep to yourself.

I'm simply requesting *any response at all* from Corey, I need to make sure they have all necessary information. Last time I submitted my order there was apparently a problem, but I never received any notification and 6 months later I'm still waiting on my tunes.

I understand that PHP is busy, but the lack of response is a little irksome.

OK, Coke was answered in a new thread and I think this one has about run its course. So, I'm locking it.
