Anybody receive their custom tunes in the past couple weeks?
Just curious.
It has been 13 weeks now since I ordered my Gryphon and have been at the top of the list for the last couple weeks. I can't seem to get a hold of Corey through PM (gave up on Email like four weeks ago when I figured out PM was more efficient) and this isn't a big enough deal for me to waste their time by calling. Hopefully she'll see it here. So anybody been getting tunes or am I the only one not? |
I am in about the same week as you. I think a few before from your 13 week calculation. I havn't gotten mine yet either but i had seen a post about a week ago that a guy had ordered his the week before me and he had just got his.
That was about 10 days ago. But we have to remember that when we purchased ours it was in the middle of a huge sale. |
Quote:
I ordered my Gryphon on February 3rd. Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy with the product so far and service has been fine, but when I have a friend order tunes from another company and get them the next day I start to feel a little... :sigh: |
Quote:
Just throwing it out there.... I once saw a guy selling SCT's on ebay. SO i clicked on his link to see what else he had and he was selling custom tunes for $.99... Yeah!!! 99 cents!!!! Anyone can write them but it takes years of knowledge and experiance to write great ones. I ordered mine on the 13th of febuary. I went back and looked. THe guy had ordered them on jan 31 and he got them three weeks ago. So it cant be to much longer. |

Wonder who at PHP I pissed off... |
Whew, now I don't feel so bad anymore. Still waiting, but I only ordered on 3/18....

One of the things we know about PHP, is - they don't play favorites and, you cannot "buy" faster service. You simply go into a queue when you order your tune (and send the hex code) and then, you get it when it's your turn.
I know of only one time they violated this approach. Bill moved a guy up in the queue because he was about to be deployed to Iraq. Seems a nice thing for them to have done (in my opinion). One of our Moderators here, Lars, is still waiting on his tunes too! He's been waiting a long time. - Jack |
Quote:
Anyway, still not complaining, just looking for some answers since I was told they would be ready last week and haven't heard anything since... |
Quote:
Bill and Corey found they had fewer difficulties if they loaded the custom tunes into your converted unit before returning it than if they returned the unit immediately and then posted the tunes later. Corey also said they would "revisit" this discrepancy in the wait time if it started to look like it was becoming an issue with people. And, one thing that would cause them to stop returning the "converted" units with tunes installed would be for them to see people flooding them with Edges to be "converted", hoping to get faster service. Now, if you are really looking for answers, please DO PM Corey. The forum is really not the place to try to put "pressure" on them. - Jack |

Quote:
No pressure, just a fact. I'll wait patiently for my tunes, but communication with Corey is an ongoing issue that contributes to the experiences related in this thread. I'm pretty sure I'm 2 weeks behind in the queue because I sent my Hex code to her in an email and a PM that went un-answered. I finally resent the PM to Bill after 2 weeks of patience, and he put me in the queue. I'm not complaining, only relating. PHP is my choice now, and will be my choice again when I order my 6.2L Raptor. |
@ the OP I would think you would be getting close, because I am right at 12 weeks and was told last week that I was about fifth in line, and was susposed to be done this past week/end, but I guess with the problems last week that didn't happen. I believe I have a pm or so floating around out in web world.hehe :)
|
i"ve got a few pm's and e-mails floating also just trying to be positive about the no replies thinking they are working so hard they don't have time to answer 24 hrs a day. hope i'm close to the top now. :smiley_roll1:
|
Quote:
Bill just got overwhelmed to quickly and did not expect this to take off like it did. Those next day tunes "magic bullets" with extra on the side to expidite them. Probaly taking previously written tunes that are "close". So then how are they different than the canned tunes then? |
I ordered mine on January 21st and sent in my hex code on the 26th. Still have not received mine. I tried to get in touch a couple of times over the months but finally got to talk to Bill 2 weeks ago yesterday, and he said mine would be done that Thursday. I have tried to call a couple of times with no luck. I know there busy i am trying my best to be patient. Just wish there was a better way of communication.
|
Just got word from the head office that mine are ready. Now I just have to get through eight hours of work before I can go home and play with them... oh the torture!
Thanks Corey and Bill! |
I know a growing business is a headache. But guys keep calling Corey says she's answering the phones. Keep emailing them Corey says she's replying to them. The one problem with the emails is that they maybe getting filtered out by their spam filter. Keep those pm's going.
Just don't give up after 2 or 3 times. This is my best advice for you guys. Good things come to those who wait. |

Quote:
It might be good to remember though, that every email, PM or phone call to PHP regarding the custom program wait time actually delays them even more! Even if it's nothing more than Corey asking Bill, "Where's Joe's tune in the queue?", it forces Bill to break his concentration to answer. It WOULD be nice if we could all save the PMs, emails and phone calls for actual PROBLEMS, that can't be resolved here on the forum! Lars and I are trying to learn as much as we can so we can help everyone, and others have come in with great advice too. So, give us all a chance, don't contact PHP unless we can't help. Don't bug them about "When do I get my tune?". And, I know this is asking a lot, but could we try? - Jack |
Quote:
If I had paid this kind of money to Amazon or somebody on eBay and after three months of not receiving the product or an update I'd be pretty pissed. I know for me two months was my limit, I didn't bother them until we were eight weeks in and I hadn't heard anything. But I'm sure others are pestering from day one. Thankfully Bill and Corey have a VERY good reputation for quality service and products so waiting for three months isn't a huge deal. But it would be easier to handle if there was an update given at some point. Am I totally off base with this or does it makes sense? |
Quote:
|
Quote:
The real difficulty here is that we are paying for Bill's expertise, not someone else's. And, Bill cannot "train" somebody else in a way that insures that this somebody has all the experience Bill has accumulated over the years. So, having Bill "farm out" some of the tuning tasks to someone else is pretty much out of the picture. I know Bill won't even let Corey do some of the more "routine" tasks, such as uploading the tune files to the server, because he wants to insure there are no errors that could damage someone's truck. Maybe Corey could think up something that would keep everyone better informed where they stand. I know she tried to do this once, but it didn't seem to work out. Just doing this though, is a drain on their resources. I'm having a few thoughts though, that I'll discuss with her. Maybe we can do a better job of keeping everyone informed AND letting Bill work on tunes and problems! - Jack |
I understand all the points made in this thread. I know that I am one of the guys that purchased my Gryphon around tax return time, when PHP had their big SALE!! (Thanks PHP!) But I was also originally quoted 4-8 weeks for my tunes. So I said hey that's awesome and left it alone, until about the 8th week, then I simply asked for an update on my tunes to be sure that they had my HEX, and that I was at least in line for my tunes. Corey assured me that I was, and that was the end of my worries. I hadn't bugged Corey in a while about my tunes (she actually forgot my name!! :) ) :2thumbs:...which told me that I was not pestering her like I felt I was, but it is going on three months now so I contacted her recently, and I am only about a week away by her calculations. I have tried to be really patient, and I know it will be worth the wait. It's not necessarily that everyone is bothering them from day one, it is just a lot of curious people that ordered around the same time (late Jan early Feb) who are beginning to wonder what happened to their custom tunes??? Thankfully, Bill and Corey haven't given up on us, and are doing their best to answer all the concerns and questions as best they can. We are all going to get through this!!! :hehe:
|
Hey guys! Kinda looking at things hear and there. A lot of you guys have already done this but there are some that haven't and Jack has mentioned this before. Please fill in your hex code in your user cp along with the serial number. Seriously it's alot less leg work for Bill and Corey!

I'd hate to see your custom tunes delayed over this, so could you do yourself a favor and go to Diagnostics->Version Info on your installed Gryphon and verify what you put down for Calibration Code is indeed correct? Maybe I'm being a worry-wart, but if there's a problem, we'd both like it fixed. - Jack |
Still waiting
My HEX code was sent in on Dec 9. Appartently there may be some kind of paper mix up? I was planning on keeping this truck only a couple of years so this is a significant amount of time already gone. I have tried to PM Corey and Bill a couple of times with not much success. I hope everything is alright with them! I am trying to wait patiently but that is getting hard to do now the nice weather is here.
Be patient I am sure they are doing what they can! Brad |
Your hex code in your User CP looks correct. I'll draw their attention to this in our Moderators forum, Brad.
Unfortunately, it appears they are away again for a few days, so there may be an additional delay. - Jack |
Thanks,
Any kind of update just so I know would be great. Brad |

Edit: I now got to post the full hex code. |

I was only concerned about it here because Bill and Corey have been having some really bad problems with their email and phones. Some of my messages have not gone through. I was simply trying to cover all bases and help remove any possible obstacles to your getting your tunes. - Jack |

Yeah, I got one of those "you're gonna get them within two weeks" messages on a thread just over two weeks ago, too. I'm not going to know what to do when I get my tunes, I'll be in shock! I hope everything's going well, they had a TON of people purchase Gryphons in this early Feb group, and there are always hangups slowing the process. I'm just ready to feel the POWAAAAAAAH!
|
By no means is this meant as a bash or be disrespectful to anyone or anything but from a customer service stand point why hold live tuning events which takes time away from people who have already been waiting weeks for their tunes, so others who just live closer to the event can stop by and get their tunes done on the spot. Im not trying to be rude or anything but when I ordered mine it march i was told there was a 4-6 week turn around time which was fine cause there was still snow on the ground here. but prolly like many on here i ordered mine around parts/mods that I would be putting on my truck which I dont wanna put on till the tuner comes in and are still waiting here to be put on. I know when I receive it everything is going to be great but this wait is killing me and it just seems like from what I read on here there is a lot that delays production. Im just venting.
|
Just finished tunes from Feb17th?:shocked:
Serious? :sigh: I sent my Hex code in on 4/2/09. Prior to ordering when i spoke to corey on the phone she told me the wait time was currently 4-6 weeks. Wow so what am i lookin at.. August? So much for my birthday present at the end of the month:(. But i'll remain poss, i'm sure it'll be worth the wait. Prob the only thing i'd wait this long for. I dont quite understand the whole live tuning thing either but it's none of my business and i to dont wanna be rude.. But if your gonna continue doing it could ya shoot up to NJ sometime real soon :) :thumbs up yellow: |
3 months and some change...and counting...

If you take a look in the notice section there is light at the end of the tunnel for a lot of us!

"so if you received your Gryphon in mid to late February or early March be on the lookout for an e-mail "
How about january's orders??????(Hex code sent 01-30-2009 ) I've sent PM's with no reply's....over three and a half months and counting, i'm way pasted the 4-6 weeks with no news. |

I'm sure you know this, but others might not. One of the heuristics a spam blocker uses is multiple addresses on an email (a "mass" emailing). I suspect individual blockers use a different number of addresses to trigger the spam response, so while say five addresses may be too much for some, it may take 10 addresses in another.
Additionally, in my case anything over 10 days old in my junk folder automatically gets deleted, which is why I check it daily. I DO know that some filters send a "reject" message back to the sender. Others, and I think mine is one of these, do not. I wonder if those that don't send a "bounce", use a "junk" folder and if those that do send a bounce don't? And, I just removed a question about my email to you because I just got your reply! - Jack |
Why not make a thread that you can post to let someone know when you get there tunes done? Might get rid of some of the "I didnt get the email" problem.

Or PMs here...I look every day to see if maybe I got an e-mail or a back-up PM telling me I have said e-mail/tunes waiting for me. We PM a LOT over on ModdedMustangs.com for that reason.;):thumbs up yellow:
|
Yeah you do got a good point about the invoice numbers. I also think the pm idea is a good one as well. keeps it private that the persons tunes are done in case they wanna keep it that way for whatever reason.

I just downloaded a new update to Pegasus. Now, if you click on Help->Registration, and fill in and save the details, I think you are going to be able to see the status of your tune request!
To do so, click on Updates->Current Update Status. I'd like someone waiting on tunes to try this and tell me what you see. It tells me there's nothing available of course, since I downloaded my tunes quite a while ago. One or two of you responding will be fine. If it doesn't find information for you, copy and paste what it says. (We're helping Bill "beta" test the application here). If Bill has this feature truly in place, we all owe him a big vote of thanks! Bill, I may have jumped the gun on this, but it looked too promising! - Jack |
Quote:
But, I have only been waiting for tunes since March:shrug: |
Quote:
The current version is: 2.01.0575. There WILL be a registration menu in it - and, I'm interested in what YOU see, since your tune request date was March. - Jack |
Quote:
Basically, once the serial number has been documented in the registration, you can tell if the update is available. It does not tell you where you are in line. Of course, the Current Update Status will tell you what the current Invoice Number is and you can kind of estimate from there. It's not perfect, but it does keep you up to date as to whether there is any progress. Also, the latest version of the Pegasus Installer is now on the PHP website so if you are having issues with the older FTP version, definitely run the new installer. Otherwise, you should be able to let Pegasus self update. Keep in mind this is only a BETA version. Hopefully I have all the buggies worked out, but it is software and should be treated as such. We'll set up a new thread in the Pegasus section for feedback, comments, and issues. Thanks. |
I ordered March 11 and it looks like i am about 47 orders away from the current. That being said about how long out am I looking or how many tunes are made on a daily or weekly timeframe.
|
EDIT: Nevermind, Bill responded pronto. Thanks again Bill.
|
Jason,
Not all invoice numbers are populated in the "to do" pile. There are huge gaps where dealers, chip purchases, and other orders may be missing. Also, not every invoice gets custom files and not everyone has provided HEX codes. Even they you may be 47 back by invoice number, you may only be 17 back... as is the case with your order. Normally I can get 5-8 orders completed a day. However, with Corey's surgery tomorrow (today!), I am going to be away from the computer quite a bit over the next couple days. I'd expect at this point your tunes will be done either this weekend or the first of the week. Hope this helps. |
Bill,
I was just wondering if you guys have everything for my order. I originally ordered my tune on March 3rd but then you later asked me for my hex code so that you could finish it up. I tried to PM you and corey but I didn't get a response. I know you guys are swamped but just wanted to know if you had everything you needed. thanks a ton, Jon Roseman P.S. the canned tunes are working great by the way. I was at the 1/8 mile track and blew up a couple monte carlo and a couple of others. |
plugged my gryphon up it says they are working on invoice 1620 mine is 1623 hopefully it won't be long now :happy-dancing: . hope everything goes well with the surgery! speedy recovery corey :2thumbs:
this is the message it shows for mine No attached device was located. Using registered device Serial Number 1623. Serial Number 1623 was not located on the server. For further update information, please contact Power Hungry directly. Current working invoice number is: 1620. Update information was last updated on: 05/26/2009. |
Thanks, jjntj2003 - this, and Bill's response above, tells me how the system is working. You're right, with an invoice number that close to the "current" one, you are practically next up. Once Bill completes your tunes, it should "find" your serial number. But - now I'm a bit confused. is 1623 your invoice number or your serial number? I would not expect them to be the same.
Jon - make sure you update Pegasus and then go to Help->Registration and fill in all the details! That way you'll know Bill has the information he needs! The HEX code he needs is called "Calibration" in the registration dialog. To everyone: Bill has started a new thread that deals specifically with Pegasus. It's here: http://dygytalworld.ehost-services13...ead.php?t=1173 Please stop using this one for Pegasus posts and use the new one. - Jack |
that is the serial number it is the same as my invoice. that was on my desktop it would not connect hooked up to my laptop itconnected fine
|
Quote:
However, I just had a thought. Maybe the Gryphon serial numbers are in sequence, beginning with the first ones ordered, (mine was 1047), and are "assigned" as the units are shipped. In this case, invoice number IS meaningful. - Jack |
WOOHOO!!!!:woot: My Tunes are in! Thanks BILL! I don't know where you find the time man, especially between taking your wife in for surgery and all the other stuff, pretty amazing...
I have uploaded the custom calibrations to the gryphon, and it all went successfully, but now the gryphon screen says : Connecting to Bridge. Please wait... It has been on this screen for about 5 minutes now. Do I need to do anything? |
