Default Display/Screen Info. Intermittent

Hey guys,

I have been running my gryphon for about 4 months now, and have had the custom tunes for about 2 weeks.

I noticed today, at two seperate occasions, that the PIDs would... get stuck... randomly.

The screen was 100% visible and was divided into quarters, but the Inst. MPG and Speed PIDs were at 0, and the CHT and TFT were stuck at values too low to be possible at 25min in to the ride (74 and 113).

I pressed the menu button and the values instantly returned to the correct numbers.

Use the battery voltage pid to see what the voltage is doing.
These things start to do funny things before the battery goes.

Nope, battery seems fine. 14. running, and 11. or so cranking.

you might have a loose connection somewhere. Probably on the lower end of the cable where it plugs into the OBDII port.

seems to be a firm connection. likewise, every time that I noticed the frozen parameters, i reach down to confirm the connection between the obdII and the gryphon and nothing changes. the second I press MENU though, the parameter return to their correct values.

Try checking the truck's wires that go into the port maybe. Which PID's are you watching?

I examined the connections at both the port and the gryphon, and it all looks fine. I have been watching Speed/Inst MPG/CHT/TFT. I just changed CHT to Battery Voltage to monitor that, as suggested above.

I just noticed that you have an aftermarket sound system. Does the screen freeze when that is running? Interference from high power stereo systems, cell phones and even alarm systems can cause the processors to freeze.

There doesn't seem to be any correlation between them. I have had the system /alarm for over a year, and the gryphon for only 3 months, but the problem only just started happening on the screen. likewise, the second i press a button, the screen start reading correctly. The speed and MPG PID just stay at "0" until i press a button on the screen.
