| Phoenix Switch-On-The-Fly Chip (DISCOUNTINUED) (Disabled) Power Hungry no longer sells the Phoenix/TS chip, but if you need custom tuning we can recommend a few really good tuners that will be able to still provide tuning and support for your chip. If you have any other questions or comments about the Phoenix/TS chip, please post it here. |

Thanks that does help. As for towing will the egt's be lower than the 1705?

I am sure they will. When I ran the 1705 in mine, the EGTs were always high when towing and I constantly had to reprogram to stock just to tow.
Bill's tunes will make your EGT happy!

I just had my truck out on the freeway today with a few little hills I don't think I went over 1100F EGT's to reach or maintain 70ish with 9500lbs of bobcat and trailer even up the few hills on the fwy. that was on 40HP tow tune. but never had to floor it either, which would probably upped the EGT"s pretty quick

This is a slightly doctored quote made by Dan (Kwikkordead from FTE) from PHP's testimonial page:

I hope this helps.

I know this is an old thread but I have a similar question.
I have a Superchips 1705 and am wondering what kind of raw power increase a chip with the standard settings would net for me. I have a manual trans so shifting is not a concern. I have previous experience with Tony Wildman's tunes on a different truck. Are the PHP tunes comparable in feel? |

Night and day difference vs the 1705 I ran one for awhile.. even with the standard trans you should notice a much more noticeable power difference..

Yep! Night and day over the 1705. I ran for one for years on my 1999.5, it was ok, but now I just installed the PHP tunes and it is literally night and day difference for the better., shifting, and power are immensely better. Eggs are very modest for the amount of power derived from the programming.
Best 300 $ ie spent on the truck. I kept my 1705 tuner.....but now it's just to read a code if I ever pop one. Patrick
