Phoenix Switch-On-The-Fly Chip (DISCOUNTINUED) (Disabled)
Power Hungry no longer sells the Phoenix/TS chip, but if you need custom tuning we can recommend a few really good tuners that will be able to still provide tuning and support for your chip.

If you have any other questions or comments about the Phoenix/TS chip, please post it here.

If you come up with any other questions, please be sure to post them. Even if I don't get to them, someone may be likely to be able to help.

Take care.

I'm glad you finally got through
I know what you mean about forgetting what you want to ask. The first time I talked to Bill, I started forgetting because I was worried about not getting to ask everything I wanted. I had to call back to ask a few more questions and still forgot one.
I ended up emailing last night so he would have it in his inbox today...and he responds back. This was at approx 1:00am his time

I understand they are very busy and it can be hard to get through, etc, etc, but I have so far had a great experience and can't wait for my FU to arrive. Not sure how long it will be, but I still have my DP to hold me until it arrives.

Thanks, I am hoping for noticeable improvements. I have noticed DP seems a bit touchy. Never thought about it till I started researching ts style chips. I've had 4 yrs now, time for a change/ improvements

I am excited and can't wait. Next step will be stage 1 sticks and possibly t500

You'll be pretty happy with the Stage 1's, although there's no real reason to change the HPOP. In about 85%-90% of the trucks, the Stage 1's will run perfectly with the stock HPOP. Stage 1's use less high pressure oil than a standard AD-Code Split Shot. In fact, I've run injectors as big as 400cc on a stock HPOP (detuned of course) and had no problem maintaining ICP. One thing I will advise... If you think Stage 1's are going to be the last injector you plan to buy, then that's fine. However, if you're the kind of person who is hard to keep satisfied and will continue to build on your truck as things get a little boring, get the largest injectors you can afford and just have them detuned to meet your application configuration (HPOP, Turbo, etc.) as this will save you considerable expense in upgrade in the long run. We can easily change the tuning as you make subsequent improvements to the vehicle.

Take care.

Thanks Bill. I will talk to you about it when I am getting close (probably a month or 2). I thought about stage 3 (hybrids) detuned but a few told me to just go with stage 1; so that was my thinking. Are the injectors detuned through your tuning, or on the injector itself?

I have an 03 with PMR's. In theory I would like to go with as much as possible without losing fuel mileage. I also do not think I want to dump a bunch into big oil, fuel, turbos, etc.

IIRC I can only push 400 hp on PMR's. I already think I have egt issues and do not want to be making that worse either. I do not remember if I mentioned it to you or on this forum, but I can hit 1250* by the time I hit 50mph and normal drive temps can be 800*. Seems excessive to me.

I was going to get autoenginuity to see check my HPOP to make sure its not weak or anything. If it needed to be replaced; thats where the T500 came in.

I will have to give you a call when I get closer so you can help me decide on what I really need. Never can have too much, but I also do not want to jeapordize economy/temps. I need to play with your chip a bit too before more mods. Need to figure out what tunes I really like so we know what cutom tunes will be needed for my FU chip.

Fair enough. Just let me know when you have time to discuss it.

As for detuning hybrids, it is all handled through the tuning. We can make a set of 250's run perfectly well on a stock HPOP and turbo by just tuning to match the capabilities of those systems. As you upgrade those systems we can upgrade the tuning to match. Of course, there is arguably some limitations on how much power you can run on PMRs, and my opinion on that differs drastically from the general consensus of 400 HP. However, I've not proven that in my truck yet and I'm not going to risk a customer's truck so lets go with the accepted notion to about 400 HP is all you want to push from your truck.

I look forward to speaking with you. Take care.
