When I was a kid, we used to drive through Rough and Ready now and then. And, I remember being with my Father when he was fishing on the South Fork of the Yuba. We were living in Grass Valley at the time - my Dad was a mining engineer with the Empire Star mine complex.
It's beautiful country and I'm saddened to hear of the fires there. Hope they get it under control soon. And, you stay safe! - Jack

The firefighters got a good lid on the Santa Cruz fire yesterday. Most of the evacuations have been lifted and it was 60% contained as of this morning, so I'm sure people and equipment are being redeployed to your area this morning. In my thoughts and prayers,
