I got my FU Chip package on Friday and hooked it all up and burned some programs with no problems and installed it in the truck. Everything ran great for about a day. Yesterday, after replacing my HPOP, I started having a bunch of problems with the truck stalling out. Eventually, it just died. I thought I'd done something wrong with the HPOP installation but I went through all that and then tried to pull codes and couldn't communicate with my PCM so I pulled the PCM out and removed the chip and everything is running fine now. I thought I'd just reburn the chip and re-install it and see how things went but I keep getting errors about the chip not being a multi-position chip and not being formatted correctly. When I click on Utilities>Get Diagnostic Info, it says ERROR, Communications Timeout. Is there a way to reformat this chip and start from scratch? What can I do to get it working again?

Is the switch installed on the chip? I know it sounds like a dumb question but it happens...

We've had a couple chips that have experienced failure the first day or two they were in the truck. I'm not sure if it was a manufacturing issue but out of about 50 chips, we've had 4 or 5 that experienced similar symptoms. The solution is replacement of the offending chip.
Not sure who this is but we may have already taken care of this. If yo have a chance, please fill in the control panel information so we know who's who. ![]()
