Phoenix Switch-On-The-Fly Chip (DISCOUNTINUED) (Disabled)
Power Hungry no longer sells the Phoenix/TS chip, but if you need custom tuning we can recommend a few really good tuners that will be able to still provide tuning and support for your chip.

If you have any other questions or comments about the Phoenix/TS chip, please post it here.

Default New Tunes Impressions

Stock, 25 Tow, 40 Tow, 65 Tow, 65 Perf, Quiet

Okay, I have had a few weeks to try out the new tunes in my 97 PSD. Most of my driving is below 45 mph in the foothills of WV. I really liked the 65 Perf tune, but I really like the 65 tow tune. The shifts happen when they should but not quite as abrupt as the performance tune. The 40 and 25 tows were for EGT control and I haven't tried them yet.

The quiet tune works well, but with my weak injector/compression(?) smoke issue I cannot use it for long as it would quickly choke the neighborhood. If used quickly, drive through orders can be made with the engine running.

Just to compare apples to apples, I switched back to stock this morning and had to stop on a hill to switch back. Climbing a hard grade with the engine lugging at 1100 rpm was a bad idea. I cannot believe the difference that the chip makes.

The power is addictive.

Aaron,

I'm sorry that the quiet tune is smoking up that badly. It's a tricky setting because certain aspects of the truck can weigh heavily on whether or not the program smokes or not. Even 1 degree of timing can mean the difference between smoke and no smoke.

Let me know if it bothers you and we can modify or replace that tune for you. Glad everything else is working well.

Take care.

The quiet tune has a second use... Switch to it, then pin the accelerator, it will hesitate, then pop and deliver the biggest cloud of noxious grey smoke you ever saw. This is especially useful when passing co-workers, family, or other undesirables. Timed just right, you can make an impression.

When I get to go through the engine, this tune will likely work as advertised.

Sure is fun the way it is!

Aaron
