Phoenix Switch-On-The-Fly Chip (DISCOUNTINUED) (Disabled) Power Hungry no longer sells the Phoenix/TS chip, but if you need custom tuning we can recommend a few really good tuners that will be able to still provide tuning and support for your chip. If you have any other questions or comments about the Phoenix/TS chip, please post it here. |

Here is the vehicle: 1997 F350 Dually 2wd, Auto trans
Basically stock, guages, DIY intake, 3inch down pipe 3.5 exhaust not kitty. I use the truck for hauling and towing in Minnesota and Wisconsin. I try to keep the GCVW under 30,000lbs. but it is often hay which can be 10' wide and 12'. 1. Stock vs. no stock 2. High Idle 1000 vs. 1100 3. 80 daily driver vs 65 daily driver 4. 25 hp tow 5. 65 tow vs. 40 tow. 6. 65 vs. 80 vs. 100 performance |

Okay, so here's the deali-o. On an OBS (94-97) truck, the stock injectors only flow about 90cc which means that you'll only be able to gain about 65-70 HP. Any higher level program is going to be a waste. I hope this isn't too disappointing. I know a lot of folks would like to run 100 HP on the OBS, but unless you swap injectors it's not really going to happen. Anyway, here's what you'll probably want to go with...
1) Stock (Free) 2) High Idle 1100 (1000 is a bit too low; 1100 seems good... your choice though) 3) 25 HP Tow 4) 40 HP Tow 5) 65 HP Daily Driver 6) No-Start (Free as well) The differences between the Daily Driver and Towing programs revolve around different shifting strategies and a less aggressive throttle curve on the Daily Driver. Take care.

I was going to get in on this little goodie earlier but since "duty calls", I had to go back to work.
Good answer, Bill (obviously)!

I like Bill's suggestion of tunes for you. Even though you won't be getting the full power gain, it's definitely noticeable. You won't regret it.
I've seen the disappointment on people when I tell them that their Edge Evolution is only getting them 40-50ish hp on their OBS 7.3 when they think they got 100hp as advertised when its on a Super Duty. So, even though it sounds disappointing at 65hp, as I said, I really really doubt you'll regret the purchase.

Bill
Thanks for the input. I knew that the injectors would limiting factor in the out put its not disapointing, just a good reason to swap injectors. The trouble is they don't show any sign of giving up just yet and its hard to jump out of a perfectly good airplane. |
