Phoenix Switch-On-The-Fly Chip (DISCOUNTINUED) (Disabled) Power Hungry no longer sells the Phoenix/TS chip, but if you need custom tuning we can recommend a few really good tuners that will be able to still provide tuning and support for your chip. If you have any other questions or comments about the Phoenix/TS chip, please post it here. |

So I was talking chips to my father in law and he had looked at banks for his duramax, I told him that it was overpriced for a canned tune. so that leads me to my question.
Does anyone know of a tuner thats close to Bill's league for those off brand trucks (chevy). |

Cleatus12r would know.
SCT makes hand held programmers for them. That's about all I know.

EFI Live for GM stuff is awsome.

EFI costs about 800 bucks . Most of the big tuners will send a tune or 2 with it if you buy from them..The best bang for the buck on a duramax is ppe. Efi is just the tuning software so if you dont know how to tune a duramax i would stay away...Look for a ppe tuner.

I agree with Georgia Diesel. EFI Live is going to be a huge waste of money if your father in law just wants to 'set it and forget it'. It's powerful but it's too much for 95% of people.
I was really impressed with the two Duramax trucks I ordered PPE programmers for. I have installed countless Edge Juice modules on them as well with good results. If he's interested in a digital gauge and a nearly rock-solid platform, the Juice/Attitude would be a good choice. However, the performance will not be nearly as noticeable as with the programmer but a pyrometer will be a mandatory additional expense. Good luck!

The PPE Xcelerator is a great option for massive power out of the box. As you can see IN THIS LIST, PPE has a lot to offer for the Duramax trucks. If he plans on running the higher tunes, he will need to do some support products to keep him from killing his motor and/or transmission. I also would make sure that he installs some good gauges. He can go with something like the WatchDog or a nice set of anolog gauges. Let me know if y'all have any questions, I'll be happy to help. Thanks, Kenny 352-636-0812

Ill pass the info along. I know that he isn't looking for race stuff, just some better performance when towing and working the truck. |
