Phoenix Switch-On-The-Fly Chip (DISCOUNTINUED) (Disabled)
Power Hungry no longer sells the Phoenix/TS chip, but if you need custom tuning we can recommend a few really good tuners that will be able to still provide tuning and support for your chip.

If you have any other questions or comments about the Phoenix/TS chip, please post it here.

As you've probably read, the IDM mod has the ability to advance the effective SOI (start of injection) from what a "typical" IDM will do. This is because the injector actually opens roughly 120mS (give or take) sooner than a stock IDM because of the increased electromagnetic field working on the injector armature.

I would say that MOST times, it's not going to be an issue with any tuning...however, if your combustion pressures are already on the ragged edge due to SOI being too soon, then it MAY become an issue.

It's not a bad mod for a mild truck with standard tuning.

A "10K" type fueling module modification such as an Edge Juice or Banks Six Gun (or any of the thousands of assorted look-alikes) will work against a custom tune on a chip because usually the tuner will have already desired a higher ICP in certain applications....and the ICP fooler will "ask" for more. This will definitely tax the high pressure oil system and usually cause higher EGTs with no power increase. The high pressure oil pump can't keep up. Then 7 seconds later once the P1211 code sets, you'll be running on the default IPR table and losing what was programmed anyway.

I'll think of more, but I have to get back to work.
