Been looking at moving up and down! LOL!
To start.
Mods are addicting! Over the past week I have doing some research and I'm going to put 22's on my truck. I have decided on what wheels and tires I'm going with. But...... My next dilema is should I lower the truck to compliment the new wheels or should I just level it? ????????? I know there's pros and cons to lowering it. Just want know what you guys think? Thanx

What tire/rim combo are you getting? Also, post up a picture of a side shot of your truck. I can use my magic to see what the two look like.

Here's the wheel.
Going to go with 285/45-22 tires. From stock they'll increase from 31.9 to 32.1 in diameter. The other selections would have moved me down to 31.6 or there abouts. I don't have any pix readly available right now to post up for your magic trick. Thanx

Well I decided to find another truck to chop up so poor HuntinDawg at f150online was my unknowing victim.
Here is the original picture/link: F150online Forums - HuntinDawg's Album: 2007 F150 - Picture original.jpg For some info it looks like he has a 2" leveling kit in the front so it made things really easy for me to drop it. This is just quickly adding the picture wheels. I cleaned it up a little but since it was getting shrunk so much I didn't do a complete overhaul like super cleaning the edges or making the rims match the cloudy lighting. rims at 2+ level.jpg This picture is close to what it would look like to put lower shackles on the back to bring the back level with the front. rims at level with front.jpg ...and I figured while I was playing with it I would use a few more clicks to see what it would look like as a lowrider. all the way down.jpg If you look close you can see some little black marks over the fender wells where I marked the top on the original pic. Every pic after that has them to give a general idea of the drop. I think it will look pretty sweet.

Colby,
Looks Great! Glad to have someone around with Photo Shop skills. Those wheels almost look like 24's though. But...... Thanx to you and some searching I just did I'm going to do the shackle leveling kit. Reason? I don't want to sacrifice the towing capabilities of the truck. Thanx again!

Eh, 2 inches off at what looks like about 30 feet isn't too bad. Those rims might also be 20s because I was eyeballin' as if they were 18's.
I like the pic with the level set to what you would get with a shackle as well. A friend of mine with a chevy colorado used an F150 lowering shackle to lift his truck.

Nice looking wheels, 88. Your new tires will have the same unloaded diameter as mine, but since they're such low profile jobs, I doubt they'll "squish" as much.
Probably, lowering/leveling will improve handling and mileage. I don't really see any "cons". Wonder if it will give you a rougher ride? - Jack

I've driven f150's with the 18's on them and compared to the 20's that I have now the ride is more soft.
So moving to the 22's will stiffen the ride up a bit more than the 20's and a lot more over the 18's. I wanted to try to keep the same tire height as the spare also. Its been fun crunching tire sizes the past few evenings. Also tried to do an availablity seach for the tires to determine the size for one of those just incase moments when a tire decides to blow and shread. Thanx
