The Conversation Pit This is where EVERYTHING else goes. No subject is too mundane. How's the weather in your area? Did your kid cut his first tooth? Really, what do you think about the President? And don't get me started on Cummins and Duramaxes. Have at it! |

Found it on the front webpage of one of my local Ford dealers. I thought was pretty cool and did appreciate the points he made, including mentioning both GM's and Chrysler's contributions to the auto industry.
As always, there are many facets to every issue and I'm sure Sen. Shelby has his reasons, which may or may not self serving. Having been a victim of prejudgment, I try to make sure to get all the facts before making any decisions on a specific topic. I do think that the Big 3 are not exempt from the wasteful corporate spending and bloated executive salaries, any more than I think anyone on Wall Street is exempt. However, the point that if the American auto industry should fail, the Nation's economy would come to a grinding halt is entirely valid. Not only would millions of people be out of work, but the only car you'll be able to buy would forever be an import. Your choices will be made for you. I think it'll be interesting to see where this goes.
