Well I wish they still offered the black cps. I don't care if it was pink, just as long as the insides were the same. While I know it will give out one day, it has a better track record with me (and what seems many other SD owners) of not causing the truck to cut out going down the road and completely giving out.

I had bought into the "blue" CPS hype a few years back. After learning they might have an effect on timing I threw it into the glove box as a spare. When the original CPS started going out on the dually I replaced it with the blue sensor. 3 months later the new blue sensor went out, now I am rockin the recall grey sensor, and have not noticed anything different.

Yea, I dont like the idea of running the blue cps (I think its for the DT466). I saw a video of a guy on youtube that posted a video of his truck ideling with that cps and it sounded sick, like the timing was off. I think bad timing mixed with tuning would be a bad thing. I've been looking for the International version for the DT444, but there seems to be 2 different part #'s. I was doing most of the research on my phone which can be a headache at times. Now I'm back on the PC so gonna do some more digging. If all else fells, I have a lightly used grey CPS in the glove box.

Ok, I found a source of the original black one. If it truely is the right one, I'm going to buy more. It's the same part # of the one I got from RiffRaff. Thanks for ya'lls input.

Here's a recent post on TDS, I think this is well explained. I may just be a grey cps hatred like guys that have had bad luck with Ford trucks are Ford haters.

Yesterday while doing some reading I saw a guy who tested 15+ CPS models. He said the best results (other than factory black CPS) were a CPS from Borg Warner.
I looked it up. It costs $25 and can be had from o'reilly's. Today I picked one up and swapped it for my CPS. Once I verified that mine was a grey started the swap. I wasnt going to touch it if it was black. The BW CPS was noticeably larger than the grey OEM one. So much so that I wasnt sure it would fit! But it fit perfectly. Got the BW in and it was an IMMEDIATE difference. The idle is much smoother now. Before it was inconsistent, about 100-200 variation in idle speed. Not much, just enough to be noticeable. That seems to be all gone now. This new CPS only went in today, so I will be on the look out for changes in the truck, but so far I am pleased! The grey is in the glove box along with a 10mm ratchet just in case. I will report back in a few days with more results.
