First,
 to the forums.  "Canned" tunes are the ones that come preloaded on the programmer. Custom tunes are ones written specifically for you calibration, driving style, environment, fuel, and vehicle usage. Most customers see on average a 1-2 MPG gain in economy on the highway and around 1 MPG city, even with canned tuning. Hope this helps.
