Phoenix Switch-On-The-Fly Chip (DISCOUNTINUED) (Disabled) Power Hungry no longer sells the Phoenix/TS chip, but if you need custom tuning we can recommend a few really good tuners that will be able to still provide tuning and support for your chip. If you have any other questions or comments about the Phoenix/TS chip, please post it here. |

....my "need" for a new chip.
I just ordered the new Adrenaline HPOP from Bob Riley (UPS says it gets here today!!!) in the hopes of filling my Split shot stage II's better. One of Bob's concerns is that my three year old tuning my not be all that well suited to maximize the performance of the pump, yet maintains that no additional tuning is required to run this pump. My question is: What has changed in the last three years, from a tuning standpoint, that would have him on edge. Isn't today's 140hp burn the same as a 140 tune from 2006?

This gasser's guess is the fuel formula?(Additives and other things like sulfor content)
But other than that nothing except a lot of knowledge has been gathered and "oops" accounted for. Lars

Here's some thoughts...
One of the things we've seen with "aggressive" chips is that the pulse width is opened up to a point where normal injector operation can be compromised. Depending on the targeted injection control pressure, excessive pulse widths may actually cause a reduction in performance and ultimately a loss in injection control pressure, especially when running modified injectors. Datalogs have shown that for most vehicles the factory pulse width settings work quite well and performance gains can be had by increasing the injection control pressure to a point where there are marginal fuel volume gains along with improved atomization. A small timing advance is also inherent with raised injection control pressures, reducing the need to aggressively modify the Start of Injection control tables. Tuning for these engines is always evolving and we know more and more each day about what it takes to make reliable power. Along the same lines, there have been vast improvements in hardware to meet the ever greater demands of the enthusiasts. This coupled technology has pushed the 7.3L further along than anyone though possible just a few short years ago. In any event, it's safe to say that considering how fast technology changes, the tunes you had 3 years ago are almost surely outdated now. Take care.

Makes sense. I definitely like the term "reliable power".
So let's say I've got one of those fancy AeroForce Interceptor gauges sitting on my desk in front of me. What parameters could I check that would let you recommend to me what I might do in the way of tuning improvements.

So I'm sitting here filling out my order form and a question arose. I've picked out the three programs I want, but I also want to keep a stock setting. Do I need to select the three or four standard calibration module?
The way I have it set up now is I selected the "Phoenix module with any three standard calibrations" and I selected "stock" for position one, with three cals following. Will that work, or change it to the four?

Hey there, I just got my chip and i ordered 3 tunes then added stock as first. stock is a free tune so you will only pay for the 3 tunes. hope you understand me. brain is not working on how to word it.
