I was wondering, would dropping the timing for level 3 down 3 levels (.5 for each octane?) would that allow me to run the performance tune on 87 octane gas or are there more things then just the timing? Also, would I see any benefit over level 2 if you can do this?
Thanks for any advice! |

There ARE more things than just dropping the timing. Corey did a post on this several months back, and I can't think of a good search string to find it, but her advice was against it.
At a minimum, the shifting and fueling strategies are also modified to properly use the more knock-resistant fuel. As I recall, you can get some potentially damaging results using Level 3 with 87 octane fuel under high load conditions. Please remember - high octane gas is not "better" gas, it's just different gas. And, these engines are really designed for 87 octane, not 91. - Jack

Sounds good. I figured it wouldn't be a good idea, especially since it is called 93 performance and not 87, but I was just thinking and if it was possible I was going to try it. Glad I asked before trying haha. Well my custom tunes should be ready quite soon I'm hoping so I shouldn't have to worry about anything
