Default Temperature hardiness

Does anybody know if there is a maximum temperature that the gryphon can take? Down in texas we dont see very much cold weather except for MAYBE a week of ice. But there is alot of high heat, some people have have been baking cookies on their dash. Is there a chance that these temperatures can mess up the gryphon since it is sitting on the dash? Dont want to bake my new programmer because I dont think I can eat it afterwards.

The most that will happen is the screen will go black.
Sun shades on the winsheild will help but if temps in the cab are over 120 the a black screen will occour. With ac on it should be readable again within minutes.

It's hot here in Arizona too. The sunshade definitely helps, and parking in the shade does too. I've never had a problem with "short" duration parking (about an hour) with the sunshade up.

The programmers are pretty robust. In fact, we have our Gryphon and Garmin sitting right next to each other on the dash. We recently had a 100º day and when we got back in the Expy., the Gryphon was humming along nicely and the Garmin would boot up because it was too hot. Granted, the GPS has a LOT more processor in it than the Gryphon does so the heat dissipation is a much bigger concern.

All in all, the only real issue we've ever seen is the screen going dark under really high in-cab temps.

Take care.
