Phoenix Switch-On-The-Fly Chip (DISCOUNTINUED) (Disabled)
Power Hungry no longer sells the Phoenix/TS chip, but if you need custom tuning we can recommend a few really good tuners that will be able to still provide tuning and support for your chip.

If you have any other questions or comments about the Phoenix/TS chip, please post it here.

Default Chip Arrived Today!!!

Got the Phoenix chip in the mail today. Unfortunately, I have to leave town to see family over the labor day weekend. The scotchbrite, PHP sticker, and the candies are much appreciated. I am still trying to figure out how they printed inside the candy like that...

Can't wait to install it!

Thanks again,

Aaron

You'll love the programs!

The lettering inside the candy wasn't always that small. There was an episode of How it's Made on either the Learning Channel or Discovery where it was shown how it was done. The letters start out about 3" tall and surrounded by other candy colors......

Then the whole works is stretched way out which makes everything shrink.

Okay, module installed. Wow. Little more work than I envisioned. I have yet to drive it, but I did test start it. I thought I would share some ideas before I forgot.

Whisper makes the morning white smoke horrendous. Gonna hafta test this one after it warms up.

The PCM comes out after removing the two bolts and the sealing flange on the firewall. E-brake has to come out to allow access to push the PCM out of the clips that hold it in. It comes out through the firewall.

I never did figure out how to remove the board from the case. I cleaned it with the scotchbrite (Thanks!), acetone and Q-tips.

I did not find a gold colored ground tab.

I found that to route the switch wire past the e-brake assembly, the top stud had to be spaced with a 3/8 inch nut behind the assembly to prevent squishing the wire.

The inner fender liner has to be one of the seven layers of hell....

Had I remembered, I would have taken pics, but I did not. Perhaps someone would be willing to take photos of their install to help those that are about to jump into this project. Paticularly how the chip interfaces with the PCM board.

Now let's go drive it!!

Whisper makes the morning white smoke horrendous. Gonna hafta test this one after it warms up. It's designed to be used when warm as you mentioned.

I did not find a gold colored ground tab. You won't on a 95-97. No worries.

I found that to route the switch wire past the e-brake assembly, the top stud had to be spaced with a 3/8 inch nut behind the assembly to prevent squishing the wire. On the old trucks I usually use 3/8 lockwashers to shim the parking brake mechanism.

The inner fender liner has to be one of the seven layers of hell....Try doing it on one that's had major body damage right there.

Had I remembered, I would have taken pics, but I did not. Perhaps someone would be willing to take photos of their install to help those that are about to jump into this project. Paticularly how the chip interfaces with the PCM board.

It kind of makes me wonder what instructions you got with the chip.....you are writing this as you had no idea what to do. I'm not bashing or poking fun...it's just that detailed instructions for a 95-97 should tell you how much of a pain it is.

I had: 1999-2003 F-250/350/Super Duty Internal Module Installation Instructions. These instructions were packed with the chip.

You are quite right. I had no clue.... I suspected they were included with the chip due to being a similar design?

Oh well... All's well that ends well.

I am still cussing that fender liner, but as you said, body damage would have made it so much worse. My holes lined up.
