Default Exhaust

I've been enjoying the overall performance gains Bill's tuning has provided. Can I change my exhaust from the Maggie SI/SO to a stock replacement without needing to change the custom tuning? I've not been overly thrilled with the exhaust note of this system and want to return to the quiet a stock type system offers.

Can I just change the exhaust system?

Thanks

I think either Bill or Lars is your expert here. I suspect Lars will reply soon.

I'm also wondering this, only on a bigger scale. What modifications can be made without needing to update the custom tune? Or maybe an easier way to answer might be "what mods will require a new custom tune?" I don't want to get a custom tune only to have it end up being worthless down the road because I want to add another mod that's not compatible with that tune.

After reading a handful of posts on the first few pages of this forum, I think I've determined a simple way to answer my question would be like this:
- If the mod comes before the cats, a new tune is needed. This also includes high-flow cats.
- If the mod comes after the cats, a new tune is NOT needed.
Someone please tell me if I'm wrong.

You got it!

The only thing you can do before the cats without doing any harm is shorty headers. But with these there are no gains.

Nothing should be effected if you do this. No new tunes required.

Lars

Sorry I was delayed on my response.

Yep... that's about the size of it.
