Default Noob questions....

Just purchased a used Gryphon from a forum member (didn't want to mention his name without permission) and although I haven't received it as yet, I have a couple of questions as to my next move.

First of all it was set back to stock, however it does have a custom 87 perf tune loaded in addtion to the canned 87 tow and canned 93 perf tune. Now for the questions:

Providing I plug it in and most likely find my HEX code is different, can I use the two canned tunes without harming my PCM?

Do I have to return the unit to PHP for reprogram of the 87 perf tune or can this be done using Pegasus after providing Bill with the correct HEX code?

Thanks for your help in advance!

Mike

If it doesn't work in your truck, then it's likely that the custom tune is still on board and it is not compatible with your hex code.

To fix this problem: download Pegasus (you should do this regardless, to get updates) and after you install it, start it up and plug your Gryphon into the PC. Pegasus should show that your Gryphon is connected. Click on "Updates->Gryphon Update Manager" and apply any firmware updates that are shown (probably won't be any). Then, apply the "Version" update that is shown - there SHOULD be one of these. It should return the Gryphon to the canned tune state and you should then be able to use it in your truck.

Another good thing to do is for you and the seller pm(private message) Bill(Power Hungry) and Corey(Groovy Chick) that this transaction has taken place so they can change it in their records at PHP.

Also fill out your user cp info when you do get the hex calibration code and serial number.
