Phoenix Switch-On-The-Fly Chip (DISCOUNTINUED) (Disabled)
Power Hungry no longer sells the Phoenix/TS chip, but if you need custom tuning we can recommend a few really good tuners that will be able to still provide tuning and support for your chip.

If you have any other questions or comments about the Phoenix/TS chip, please post it here.

Default Gonna Buy a 2nd Pheonix and have some questions

Hello,

I picked up a 2002 Excursion with the 7.3 for my wife to drive. After about 1000km i fugured its getting 13.8 mpg which id really like to improve. I already have a pheonix in my 96 and would like to buy another one.
Could you tell me which tune would be the absolutely best for mileage not considering hp and could a custom tune be done that would be even better for mileage in this truck and what can i expect at best. I will also be getting hp tunes. the truck has intake and exhaust already.
Is the gryphon cts for this vehicle switch on the fly? and is the tuning itself different with a gryphon or the same as what i would get in a pheonix. thanks

I think the driver input has more to do with MPG than anything. Some folks may get the best mileage out of the 120race while the next guy may do best with a dd tune. Personally I think the 80dd would give me the best MPG BUT I just can't get the new worn off of the 120race tune. My advise would be to get ahold of Bill & see what he says about your set up & what your trying to achieve, good luck bud

Are you telling me that he drives with a lead foot? I wouldn't believe it; even if I was there to witness it.......

There's a reason people who drive like me tend to get better mileage. However, it usually irritates the heck out of the people behind me.

Me too! But then when I get irritated with their comments on my driving style I show them what a performance tune feels like.
