Default FU2 with used chip?

Hi, I want to know if I purchase the FU2 package do I need to send in my chip first or do I hold on to it and tune it when the product arrives?

Thanks

If the chip is originally from PHP, you don't need to send it in. If the TS chip is from someone else, it will have to be reformatted before it will work with our burner.
