Phoenix Switch-On-The-Fly Chip (DISCOUNTINUED) (Disabled)
Power Hungry no longer sells the Phoenix/TS chip, but if you need custom tuning we can recommend a few really good tuners that will be able to still provide tuning and support for your chip.

If you have any other questions or comments about the Phoenix/TS chip, please post it here.

Default 80Performance vs. 80dd

I'm trying to fine tune (pardon the pun) my list of Pheonix tunes. I have 80dd on the list as my 'go to' setting for most of my driving but have been curious about the 100performance as well.

I'm wondering if the 80performance would be a happy medium between 80dd and 100performance. Anyone know what are the driving, fuel use characteristics between the the 80 dd and 80 performance?
If you don't have both but have just one what are their characteristic as far as fuel economy, hp at low end high end, shift patterns, smoke etc.
I have an automatic BTW.
Thanks

I have 80DD and 100Perf, and I can tell the difference... I wouldn't bother doing 2 80's, I had the 65DD and the 80DD, and there was really no difference, so I had the 65DD removed and set to stock. It's funny, just going from stock to 80DD at idle, you can hear the difference in the way it runs. Just my .02

I think the biggest diff in the dd & perf tunes is the shifting of the trans. The dd will shift a little sooner to give a little better economy & the perf winds out the rpms a little to give you the hotrodding. I drive mine 90% of the time & it has plenty of pep.

Hmm, well...given the fact now the RPM's sometimes go to redline to hit fourth in the stock 4R100. If 100Performance stretches out the gears even maybe 80DD is all I need.
