Will the gryphon only alarm you on the selected items that are displayed on the screen. or will it also alert you of other alarms set ?

You can go in and set the alarms. Anything in that list will trigger an alarm but if it is not listed then it wont.

It alerts you to any alarm condition you have set, which does not have to be something on the screen. For instance, I do not have my truck's speed displayed, since I use the speedometer, but it alarms when I exceed 85 MPH, which I have set up to keep me from getting tickets.

As I recall, the monochrome Gryphon alarms with a flashing red screen and a "clicking" sound. It gets your attention pretty easily.

Yup, got mine set at 85ish as well and it sure catches my attention... also I had my tranny temp hit 225 once, it started flashing and clicking and I had no idea what was going on for a second... forgot it did that haha! I was towing my dad's boat in the mountains from a lake in the summer and it got a little hot... I slowed down and it cooled off fairly quickly.
