Phoenix Switch-On-The-Fly Chip (DISCOUNTINUED) (Disabled)
Power Hungry no longer sells the Phoenix/TS chip, but if you need custom tuning we can recommend a few really good tuners that will be able to still provide tuning and support for your chip.

If you have any other questions or comments about the Phoenix/TS chip, please post it here.

Default Question about the tow tunes

If I have a 4000lb camper that I am hauling in the bed of the truck, would I look at the 80hp tow setting (up to 7500 lbs) or do I include the camper, truck etc and use say the 40hp (10,000 to 125000lb) tow tune?
Thanks
Tim

Just the weight of the trailer being towed or the load in the bed (in this case the camper with less-than-optimal aerodynamics). 80T should be good.

Welcome to PHP land. Cody is the expert, but I just want to back him up. I tow a 5th wheel that is almost 14,000lbs and depending on the conditions I often tow in the 65 Tow tune. Most of my time is probably spent in the 40 Tow. With the weight you are talking about 80 Tow would be fine. Just make sure you have a way to monitor EGT.

Thanks! Good info to have. I've got gauges so I am now ready to look at a chip.
