Boy, good to have you back in the conversation loop Bill!
 Seems like I keep learning new things. I would not have guessed that clearing DTCs would set the P1000 code, nor did I know you couldn't clear it. Another bit of information to add to my "troubleshooting file". It's getting pretty long now. - Jack

Reprogramming the PCM will automatically clear any codes in the PCM. That's probably what happened.
