The Conversation Pit
This is where EVERYTHING else goes. No subject is too mundane. How's the weather in your area? Did your kid cut his first tooth? Really, what do you think about the President? And don't get me started on Cummins and Duramaxes. Have at it!

Well even though I was unofficially fired (they have a friend I introduced them to working almost every weekend when I haven't had any contact with them since I posted the earlier pictures) I used my connections and power of persuasion to get back out there for an afternoon after I was done working at my new job. As for all of these pictures, I had to upload shrunken versions. These are all less than 1/4 the originals. I have more if anyone wants full sized copies, just name the car.

Not the fastest but he definitely wasn't the slowest. Had a huge disadvantage on this road track because of the weight. Also had a front tire lock up for a little bit on a straight just before a mean broad turn. After he left a trail of smoke the people in charge started griping how trucks aren't meant for the track and such...then I figured that was one reason they didn't like me working there, my truck was big enough to use their cars as oil change ramps.

Audi R8, I kinda liked them until I saw one in person.

Mustang, just like last time, was slower than it should have been.

Yeah, I know, its a chevy car but I still liked the color/stripes/hood and also just a nice picture in general.

This guy went off the road from a broad sweeper turn that was off-camber and still kept a car that was tailing/trying to get around from passing him. I was bummed he got the black flag but rules are rules. He was a super good driver to pull it off.

My old miata...

Here are a couple shorts from the missus filming last time I was at thunderhill:

and:

car was fast...damn fast....250 plus hp to the wheels, around 200 ft lbs of torque, weighed 2100 lbs...big tires, big brakes...
Eventually bought a wing for it (couldn't hook the rears coming out of turns, so I had to turn the boost down to 8psi from 16 psi)
God that car was fun... Sold it to do the minis...what was I thinking?

Yeah, until the owner let me take his turbocharged audi A4 wagon I had never driven a car for more than 100 ft. I'd like a turbo but I wasn't impressed with how some of the cars out there handled. For a $100 I could lower my truck back to the front stock height and stiffent up the suspension but I like playing on dry dirt way more than street.

The full sized image of this mini looks really good (like most of the others). The minis were decently quick. They had a tendency to squeal the tires on turns more but they very rarely lost control. The one in the picture also made an annoying sound like a mosquito buzzing in your ear.

Those guys would be in real trouble if I had the money, equipment and desire to build my own track car.
