Default Comments/questions

A couple of comments/questions.

I’m wondering if the custom 87 performance tune I have ordered will be worth Bill’s effort and my $30. Basically, will the 93 performance tune that comes standard with the Gryphon be better or the same as a custom 87 performance tune? My only modification is a K&N CAI. I know no truck is exactly alike, but I’m only really looking for a vague answer here.

I’ve also seen Bill reference the standard performance tune on the Gryphon as a 91 octane tune, even though my programmer says 93. So is the tune actually 91 or 93 as shown?

Thanks,

Phil

In most cases, I use the terns 91 octane and 93 octane interchangeably. What I am generally referring to is high octane pump fuel, versus the low octane variety. For what it's worth, at 5000 ft. 89 octane is the high octane stuff and can run the "93" canned tunes with no modification due to the altitude offset.

As for the tuning, I doubt I'm the best person to answer that question. I'll let others offer their opinions either for or against it.

Take care.

i have heard alot of people liking the custom 87 perf better than the canned 93. I have a 87 perf on my stock 08 and love it....but haven't tried the canned 93. IMO...a custom tune is better than a canned one anyday. It's wrote to YOUR truck.
