Phoenix Switch-On-The-Fly Chip (DISCOUNTINUED) (Disabled)
Power Hungry no longer sells the Phoenix/TS chip, but if you need custom tuning we can recommend a few really good tuners that will be able to still provide tuning and support for your chip.

If you have any other questions or comments about the Phoenix/TS chip, please post it here.

As for the daily driver option - the only reason I didn't consider it is because most guys with the 6 speed are saying a lot of the tune is dedicated to shift points... which means it suits an automatic better. Any guys with a 6 speed that have first hand comparisons between the performance and DD settings? If you have a 6 speed and could only pick one tune for daily driving, what one would it be?

Price question still open for anyone in the know.

Thanks for the info so far guys!
I'm pretty sure you are right about the dd & the auto, seems like most folks with the 6 speed use a performance tune for dd. I'm just going by what I've heard

Yeah, I'm thinking I will go that route too. Now I'm just wondering if I'd be happier with an 80 performance as my daily. Hmmm

Still the price question: Surely someone must have ordered a combo tune before? Bill, Cody, Corey, someone, anyone?

You don't have to have the parking brake set for the high idle tune on the chip to work. Its a good ideal to have the parking brake set but you don't have to. I don't mind the 80DD tune now. I use to not like it b/c it felt a little bit dead when you took off. The 100 performance is a good daily driver tune. It gets good mileage and has a good pedal feel.

Thanks for the info. The whole thing I'm looking for in a daily driver tune is more low end response. Once I'm up to speed and cruising along down the highway even the stock power is decent.... 0-2000 RPM is pretty dead though. So now, anyone with opinions on 80 Performance vs 100 Performance for a Daily?

And still the price question on combining the high idle with another tune???

The DD versus Performance versus Race tune question was what I was hoping to find out as well when I posted a while back... so I'm sitting here waiting anxiously!

It seems like people are saying mostly "it's all in the shift points" which kind of makes sense... but not 100%.

I'd love to hear something like "the race tunes give more fuel down low" or "the DD tunes are leaner at part throttle, making them get better highway mileage" or something. Anything, really. Maybe there are so few of us who shift our own gears that it doesn't really matter?

Typically the "economy" type of programs use slightly higher ICP and a touch more timing in the cruising ranges then a "race" tune will. The higher ICP and injection timing will increase mileage as this produces a cleaner burn. Obviously, the shift strategy's will be adjusted for the different fueling rates.

the 100 performance has a lot more low end feel that it sounds like you want in a daily driver then the 80 DD. The 80 DD to me feels similar to a stock truck to about 1800 rpms and then it starts to pull harder. Where the 100 performance pulls harder at lower rpms. Maybe that will help. I have the FU Package and i have tried pretty much all of them by now. I've gotten to where I like the DD tune but the 100 performance makes the truck definitely a lot more fun to drive. Maybe that will help.
