I see. Okay, so my next question is: is it possible for an error code to appear on the
programmer and have no CEL?

Yes - an example is the P1000 code. There are surely others, but I don't know what they are. Some codes, by the way, do not relate to the engine. Some are specific to the transmission. I think some relate to brakes and even lighting.
