Hi mxriderae. This is PHP's attempt to save you some money if you don't want 3 custom tunes. Many people don't - I have only two; an "87 octane daily driver performance/economy" (whatever you want to call it - really designed for highway cruising on long trips), and, an 87 octane towing tune for when we pull our trailer on those same long trips.

I left my street racing needs behind as I grew older! :o And, I don't drive the truck around town much unless I need the cargo hauling capacity.

Bill and Corey figure it this way: If you want a Gryphon, you think you need at least ONE custom tune. The Gryphon costs $399 and each custom tune asked for at time of order is only $30, so, the total cost for these two items is $429. If you don't want ANY custom tunes ever - you might as well get an Edge.

But, some people KNOW they want more than one custom tune at time of order! Those people can save some bucks by letting PHP know they want 2 or even 3 tunes when they order, because each additional tune is $30 at that time, instead of the $60 they cost if ordered later, the way I did it when I decided I wanted a second tune.

So, if you KNOW you are wanting to get two or three tunes, PLEASE indicate that fact in those choices and you will be charged only $30 more for each tune over the first one.

Remember, tuning won't even start until you get your unit, plug it in to your truck and send them your vehicle's HEX code. I think you actually have six months to decide exactly what your specific custom tuning needs are (regardless of what you called them when you placed the order).

And, to get a true "custom" tune, you need to send Bill information that lets him know even more than what's on the form. What are your driving habits? Where do you drive? Are you looking for passing power or off the light power? Do you want good fuel economy? Any mods to your truck that might effect performance that are not in the form (like my bed cap)?

I talked with Bill and sent him an email with my goals, including pictures of my truck and trailer. I suggest you do much the same.

And, if I got any of this wrong, just tell Corey it was my fault, and she'll send any extra charges my way! (I'll pay them too)!

That's all right. Your fuel is graded using the Research Octane Number (RON) only. In the States, we also grade fuel using the Motor Octane Number (MON) and then post the average of the two: (R + M)/2. MON will always be about 8-10 points below RON. So, your 91 octane gas is pretty close to our 87 octane stuff and your 95 octane gas is equivalent to our 91.

I'd use the American values (87 and 91) on the order form to avoid confusion.

Hope this makes sense.

Yes, unless I'm way wrong here, Bill and Corey honor a custom tune request at time of order for six months. Just indicate on the form, wherever convenient, that you will tell them the specifics of the tunes needed when you decide on the mods you are installing.

Oh, and your earlier question: just assume you are burning 87 and 91 octane gas, fill out the form accordingly, and everything will be just fine
